Attend, learn and contribute to providing free therapy for those who can't afford it.
Hi, I’m Ana, I’m thrilled to welcome you to Therapy in Action, a project very close to my heart.
For the past 5 years, I’ve been leading an initiative called ‘Free Sessions During the Holidays,’ where an amazing group of generous psychotherapists come together each year to offer free therapy to those who need it the most. What started small has now grown into a community of over 200 volunteer therapists, providing more than 2000 free sessions.
Your feedback has been inspiring, and I’ve listened. You’ve told us we can do even more:
Reach more people with better marketing.
Create more opportunities for free sessions throughout the year.
That’s why I’ve created Therapy in Action - a project designed to help us raise the funds we need to continue growing, expanding, and offering free therapy to even more people. But more than that, it’s about building a community where we can come together to learn, grow, and support one another.
Therapy in Action provides affordable workshops, lectures, and resources led by some of the brightest minds in mental health and psychotherapy. Whether you’re a therapist, coach, or someone passionate about mental health, our experts will offer insights that can transform your life and practice.
Topic: A Map with Fuzzy Borders: A Constructivist Approach to Borderline Personality Disorder
Lecturer: Vladimir Miletic, MD is a psychotherapist and psychotherapy supervisor
Date: November 11th, 10.30 AM CET (Online)
Join us for an engaging lecture that reimagines the therapeutic landscape for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) through the lens of constructivist psychology. In this framework, BPD is not simply viewed as a disorder but as a complex, often unstable, way of navigating the world - a “map with fuzzy borders” where subjective experiences shape one's existence.
What You’ll Discover:
Alternative Perspective on BPD: Constructivist psychology offers a fresh lens on BPD, recognizing it as a mode of existence, rather than merely a disorder. BPD can be seen an unstable form of subjectivity - a mode of existing within, and responding to, the world rather than a static diagnosis.
Creating a Stabilizing Therapeutic Space: Explore how constructivist therapy for BPD fosters a unique interpersonal space that supports clients on a preverbal level, inviting transformative change.
The Therapist's Role: Understand the critical importance of a therapist’s ability to manage countertransference, enabling a grounded, supportive environment for the client.
Focus on Autonomy and Responsibility: Discover how constructivism emphasizes personal responsibility and autonomy, directing therapy goals toward enhancing the client’s dynamic functioning rather than targeting specific content.
This lecture will provide valuable insights for mental health professionals, students, and those interested in innovative approaches to working with clients with BPD. Don’t miss the chance to broaden your therapeutic map and deepen your understanding of this nuanced constructivist perspective.
You will be provided with the certificate of attending the lecture.
